Around Lucca there are more than 300 historic Villas, country mansions that merchants from Lucca built between the 16th and 19th centuries, the result of their successful trading, all over Europe.
Every year since 1977 Capannori has held the Marcia delle Ville, one of the most popular non-competitive races nationwide with about 20,000 participants. The route takes place within the historic gardens of the Villas and is therefore a unique event because it combines sports, nature and culture. There are several routes to choose from, starting from 5 up to 26 km, as well as the opportunity to visit the Expo area inside the Marlia Market.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival and check-in. We recommend to go to Marlia to collect your bib number. We also suggest you visit the Expo area inside the Marlia market. This is new for the 2024 edition. Here you can tour sport equipment stands and meet companies from the world of sport, wellness and fitness.
Dinner in hotel.
Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel and participation in the March of Villas event. The event starts at 8 o’ clock, 9.30 or 10.45 depending on the ticket purchased and the route chosen.
The selected hotel will give you the possibility of a late check out 2pm. That means you will have the opportunity to return shower and collect luggage.
In the afternoon we suggest a guided tour of Lucca.
